convicted felons > gays on gma

Chris Brown Apparently, the show runners at Good Morning America feel that a convicted woman beater is more palatable to the viewing public than the possibility of an openly gay man doing something “factually gay”.

According to the New York Post, ABC has booked Chris Brown to appear on GMA the week after next for an interview and a performance.

Brown was convicted of felony assault and sentenced to six months labour and 5 years probation in August for his attack on then girlfriend Rihanna last February.

ABC stands by it’s decision, claiming they cancelled Adam Lambert’s performance due to concerns over his “unpredictability” (is that what they’re calling man on man lip locks now?) and that the Chris Brown interview portion has already been taped, with the “possibility of him performing a song will be worked out next week”.

Hmmm…sounds like they’re giving themselves a bit of wiggle room to back out of  Brown actually performing should a backlash start.  Word is women’s groups and gay activists have already contacted ABC, slamming the decision.
