It’s been quite a day for endings.  First Tyra’s show ends it’s run, Gary Coleman shrugs off this mortal coil, and now this.

Unless this is a ploy for more tabloid covers (and these two famewhores are just shameless enough) TMZ is reporting that Heidi Montag has grown a pair and left her husband, Spencer Pratt.

 The two met on MTV’s fake reality show The Hills several years ago, when he was introduced as her boyfriend, and got married in 2008.  If news of the split is true, the writing was on the wall for some time.  Spencer’s reaction to all of Heidi’s surgery last fall was to throw his hands up in the air and run screaming from the room one of more resigned aquience than positive feedback.  This past spring, Heidi turned around and fired Spencer as her manager, which he had been for the past several years.  Awkward.

Speaking of Spencer, he’s supposedly becoming more and more obsessed with crystals (the rocky kind, not the methy kind) for their “positive energy” and some people are finally starting to question his sanity.  Too little, too late.

Heidi’s spokesminion tells TMZ that “Heidi is looking to move out due to all the fake bad press that Spencer controls. She’s tired of it and is looking for a place and wants to focus on her acting career.”

Guess Heidi’s taking news of not getting that part in Transformers 3 harder than we thought.

Looks like the there was no magic in the Magic Kingdom approved (and probably ordered) romance of Disney stars Joe Jonas,20 and Demi Lovato, 17.

The story flying around over the weekend was that Joe had his father break up with Demi over the phone, but she shot that down via her Twitter account late Monday saying, “There are so many crazy rumors flying around today. I’d like to clear a few things up. First, Joe and I did split but it wasn’t over the phone. Things didn’t work out but we’ll remain friends.”

(Joe infamously broke up with Taylor Swift in 2008 over the phone) 

Joe spoke to People as well, telling them “Demi and I knew going into our romantic relationship that it may not be an easy one. I realize over the time we have shared together that I feel I care more about our friendship right now. It was my choice to break up but I love her as a friend. She’s been there for me when I needed her. I will continue to be her friend and be there for her.”

That’s good to hear, since she and the Jonas Brothers will be touring together this summer.  Awkward.

The pair first met when they worked together filming Camp Rock in 2007.  Demi announced that they were a couple back in March right after a bunch of photos surfaced of Joe out shopping with a couple of friends (see below).

Always outspoken and highly critical of the hand the feeds, Megan Fox has been abruptly dropped from Transformers 3, which is just about to go into production.

Apparently, Michael Bay and company decided not to pick up her sequel option and will cast a new love interest for Shia LeBeouf’s character, saying they’ve decided to “go in a new direction”. 

Translation - Bay got sick and tired of listening to her talk sh*t about him.  Some of Megan’s qoutes on working with Michael Bay on the Transformer’s movies below….

“He [Michael Bay] wants to be like Hitler on his sets, and he is. So he’s a nightmare to work for but when you get him away from set, and he’s not in director mode, I kind of really enjoy his personality because he’s so awkward, so hopelessly awkward. He has no social skills at all. And it’s endearing to watch him. He’s vulnerable and fragile in real life and then on set he’s a tyrant.”

“But unless you’re a seasoned veteran, working with Michael Bay is not about an acting experience”.

“I can’t sh-t on this movie [Transformers 2] because it did give me a career and open all these doors for me. But I don’t want to blow smoke up people’s ass. People are well aware that this is not a movie about acting.”

“I had been tanning a lot so that Michael would be happy with my skin tone. Every spare moment of sun that was outside, I had to be in it. It’s not going to happen again because of the damage and the possible skin cancer.”

Do you think it was that last qoute, which appeared in the most recent issue of Allure Magazine that was the proverbial straw that broke the camels back?

Megan herself was the subject of a rant filled letter last year by three unnamed members of the crew on Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen who said working with her was a fresh new hell unlike anything any of them had experienced calling her a “thankless, graceless, and unfriendly bitch“.

Megan’s march towards irrelevancy begins now…

UPDATE – Megan’s spokesminion has told People that the actress wasn’t released and is in fact the one who walked away fromTransformers 3.  If this smacks of “She wasn’t fired, she quit” type spin to you, your not alone.

2010: The Year Of The Cheating Spouse seems to be continuing on a roll. 

The latest member of the club, according to the National Enquirer, is Today co- host Matt Lauer. 

Word is Matt was going wild while in Vancouver during the Winter Olympics.  Apparently, he stood his wife, Annette, up on Valentine’s Day and was having so much “fun” he stayed on for a few days after the closing ceremony.

Once Matt got back, his wife confronted him, having been informed of hisextra curricular activities (flirting and canoodling in public) by another Today show staffer’s wife, and threw him out.    

Supposedly, NBC brass have been pressuring Matt to keep the status of his marriage and living arrangement hush-hush, so his “family man ” image isn’t tarnished, since most of his fan base is female and married (the Soccer Mom Brigade).

This isn’t the first time there’s been trouble between Matt and Annette.  In 2006, they briefly separated while she was expecting their third kid and Annette actually filed for divorce, but the proceedings were called off after a month.  

Most shocking of all?  Gloria Allred isn’t involved in this.  Yet.

UPDATE – Matt and Annette have both gone to the always celebrity friendly People to dispute the story in the Enquirer.  According to them, the story is lies!  All lies! 

Matt told them, “I am living in my apartment with Annette and my children as a family and a couple.  I have never moved out. I am not moving out. There is no truth to that.”

Annette meanwhile says that “Out of respect, I want to stand up for our family and protect them.”

Notice the lack of denial about his stepping out or her accusations to him about it.  So are they actually together and working out their problems, or are they faking it for NBC and Matt’s reputation?

Semi-mummified and somewhat clueless host of CNN’s Live, Larry King, has moved back home with his wife Shawn Southwick.

The two have been going to marriage counseling and trying to work things out since last month, when stories broke about the two having affairs (Larry with Shawn’s sister, and Shawn with their kid’s little league coach.)

In a statement they said, “We love our children, we love each other, we love being a family.  That is all that matters to us. We owe it to ourselves and our children to continue being dedicated to each other. We want to thank our friends for their loyal love and support—for being there for us.”

Sounds like they’ve come up with, and agreed to an ”arrangement” (if you know what I mean and I think that you do). 

Hey, each to their own with whatever works.

A short while ago it was announced that Halle Berry and her baby daddy, Gabriel Aubry were parting ways.  Apparently, Gabriel just wasn’t feeling “it” anymore, their age difference was becoming an issue, etc, etc.

All things considered, the split was amicable (at least publicly).  They’re sharing  custody of their kid, he’s getting the house they purchased in Montreal, everyone seemed to be handling it with some maturity, class, and dignity.

Then story after story started to be published in the tabloids and gossip sites, all credited to anonymous sources close to the pair.  Of course.

He’s thinking of suing for full custody, she called him a “loser” and claimed he didn’t pull his weight, he wanted her to have another kid, she was the one who called it off, he probably cheated, she’s already moved on.  It’s exhausting trying to keep up, as it’s been going non-stop since the pair confirmed the split about a week ago.

Until one or the other’s spokesminion comes out with a statement or something concrete happens that’s not from one of these “sources”, take anything more you read about this with a grain of salt. 

I love some good dirt as much as the next person, but I don’t think there’s much more to see here than what we’ve already been told.  Time will tell.

Not on NBC’s Dateline?  SHOCKING!

Breaking his silence regarding the whole Tonight Show drama, Conan O’Brien was interviewed by 60 Minutes to give his thoughts and his side of the story (much  like Jay Leno did with Oprah earlier this spring).

No major earth shattering revelations were made in the interview, although it appears that while Conan walked away with a $32 million buy out, had Leno left, it would supposedly have cost the network almost five times as much. 

Suddenly, NBC’s decision regarding the Tonight Show and Jay Leno makes a lot more sense.

As for Conan,while he did say he’d occasionally get a major case of the sads following his departure, ($32 million notwithstanding) going on The Legally Prohibited From Being Funny On Television Tour over the next few months and returning to late night on TBS this November has probably been pretty therapeutic.

One of the most attractive celebrity couples, actress Halle Berry and model Gabriel Aubry have split after five years.

Radar is reporting the 43 year old actress and 34 year old model called it quits earlier this winter.  Apparently, Gabriel initiated the split as he was starting to develop a wandering eye and felt that he shouldn’t be with Halle any more because of it (clealry he’s never heard of “wed not dead”).  Word is their age difference also played a role.

The two have agreed to  joint custody of their daughter, two year old Nahla.  The only other potential sticking point was Gabriel wanted the house the two purchased in Montreal (his home turf) which Halle also agreed to.

Refreshing to see a couple keeping their split relatively amicable and mature for a change.  Here’s hoping they both find what they’re looking for.

Jesse James was interviewed by People regarding his and Sandra Bullock’s (now just her) adoption of a baby and their upcoming divorce.

“My whole life has been full of hard decisions.”

“The decision to let my wife end our marriage, and continue the adoption of Louis on her own, has been the hardest. The love I have for Louis cannot be put to words. Not having him around to love and to hold has left a huge hole in my heart.

“Sandy is the love of my life, but considering the pain and devastation I have caused her, it would be selfish to not let her go. Right now it is time for me to beat this addiction that has taken two of the things I love the most in life.”

“I have always taken great pride in proving people wrong. That time has come once again to show that I am not what everyone says I am. I know in my heart that I can be the best father possible to my four children, and the mate Sandy deserves, and realize that this is an incredible mountain to climb. Oh, Boo Hoo!  What’s all this “let her” crap?  Is he serious?? Did he even have a choice in the matter??? 

Even though there was allegedly a pre-nup that made cheating grounds for no money in the event of a divorce, Sandra’s probably paying him off (and well) to disappear quietly and not make any more waves than he already has.

Must be something in the water at the rate celebs and their significant others are parting ways.  Latest casualty?  Tara Reid, the proto version of Lindsay Lohan, is single again.

Word is that she is no longer engaged to Michael Axtmann (the one with the interesting eyebrow situation happening in the photo above) after someone in the relationship called off the engagement. 

This part of the story is kind of fuzzy, as some reports (the media outlets that Tara got to already?) claim she called it off, while others (the ones she didn’t get to?) are saying  that Michael is the one that called off the engagement after meeting the man of his dreams.

Oh please, like you weren’t thinking it too.
