Or was that supposed to be “out of my box”?
Jerry Seinfeld does not like to share his toys after all. A couple of weeks after Lady Gaga was moved to Seinfeld’s private box at Citi Field (where she continued to flip people the bird who took her picture) the comedian weighed in on her behavior when asked about it on sports radio WFAN.
“This woman is a jerk. I hate her. I can’t believe they put her in my box, which I paid for. You give people the finger and you get upgraded? Is that the world we’re living in now? Why is she giving the finger? How old is the finger? How’d it even get to be the finger? I don’t know what these young people think or how they promote their careers.
I’m older, I’m 56. I look at Lady Gaga the way Keith Hernandez watches these kids when they pull the pocket out, they wear the inside-out pocket. … Do you think he understands that? He can’t understand that. That’s a new game, that’s kids. I’m not one of these all-publicity-is-good people. People talk about you need exposure — you could die of exposure. She is talented. I don’t know why she’s doing this stuff.”
I’m not sure if this was a real complaint or if Seinfeld was just using this as an excuse to do his shtick. Whatever. At least CBS has a viable replacement when resident curmudgeon Andy Rooney finally stops complaining about everything long enough to shuffle off this mortal coil.
In other Lady Gaga news, she told Rolling Stone Magazine that she’s finished her new album and plans to release it early next year. “I’ve been working on it for months, and I feel very strongly that it’s finished now. It came so quickly. Some artists take years; I don’t. I write music every day.”
Lady Gaga also says her new release will be more political than her previous releases, with angrier, bitter overtones. Hmmmm. So that’s why she was giving everyone the finger the other week.
