Jesse Eisenberg (Mark Zuckerberg), Andrew Garfield (Eduardo Saverin) and Justin Timberlake (Sean Parker) strike a pose at last night’s after party for the New York Film Festival premiere of The Social Network.

The movie’s generating all kinds of positive buzz, including (shockingly) JT’s performance.  Great.  Like he wasn’t egotistical enough before.

Meanwhile, the real Mark Zuckerberg, in a totally non-PR unrelated move to counter the negative portrayal of him in the movie, appeared on Oprah yesterday to donate $100 million to the Newark school system (there’s been much yammering on Oprah lately about how the little darlings need good schools and education) which is totally totally a coincidence, both Mark and Oprah swear!

By sending everyone in the studio audience to “AUSTRALIAAAAAAAAAA”.

After about an hour of listening to the faithful and special guests John Travolta and Don Johnson give literal blow jobs to Oprah (it was every bit as nauseating as it sounds), the mighty Opes declared that she’d be taking her flock down to Perth for eight days.  I’m assuming Travolta (a licensed captain) is going to fly. 

Said Opes, “I wanted to kick off my 25th season in a big way and I’ve heard Australia is the ultimate adventure. It’s one of the places I’ve always wanted to visit, and who better to take with me on this trip of a lifetime than some of my most loyal viewers. My team has been planning this trip for almost a year and we are so excited to go down under.”

It’s going to put a dampener on things if all of the Mighty Opes’ trained seals followers end up having to pay taxes for this trip (remember the cars?).  Going to and from AUSTRALIAAAAAAAAAAAAAA  is not cheap.  No word if Oprah and John are planning on leaving them all in the outback, which would be wickedly funny, or if they’ll all be converted to Scientology by the time they get back.

Looks like announcing the end of her reign as queen of the daytime (late afternoon) talk show circuit was a brilliant move on Oprah’s part and continues to pay her dividends.

Forbe’s Magazine announced it’s annual Celebrity 100 list, which factors in influence, media pressence, earnings, popularity, and the all importent yet somehow undefineable “it” factor that makes all the difference.

Last year, the Mighty Opes got bumped from the top spot by Angelina Jolie (who dropped 17 spots this year), who was riding on the success of the period drama Changeling and action flick Wanted.

Rounding out the Top Ten?  Beyonce - #2,  director James Cameron - #3, Lady Gaga – #4, Tiger Woods – #5 (really?), Britney Spears – #6 (again, really?), rock group U2 – #7, Sandra Bullock – #8, Johnny Depp – #9, and at #10, Madonna.

The three leads from The Twilight Saga: Eclipse were interviewed by the Mighty Opes today, and the show also focused on the Twi-hards that live, breathe, and poop all things related to the Twilight “phenomena”.

It was pretty much like any interview with the stars before,  Sparkles was charmingly self deprecating, Stewart seemed nervous and fidgety, and Lautner was pleasantly bland. 

At one point, Oprah asked Sparkles about his showmance with Kristen Stewart, and he blurted out that she’s pregnant.  Although Stewart made it quite clear he loves to say things for just for shock value, his response hysterically ended up as the cover story on OK Weekly (the show was pre-taped).

Dakota Fanning also showed up for a portion of the show.  Apparently, she and Kristen Stewart have become good friends even though there’s a four year age difference.  Stewart said she turns to her for advice (she might want to get some interviewing lessons as well).

Pffffft.  Since when does Naomi drive herself?  Or keep her temper in check?

Anyway, Oprah got mal-tempered model and alleged blood diamond recipient Naomi Campbell to sign off on her No Phone Zone campaign, where she has her guests pledge not to text and drive at the same time. 

The star of such posts as “When Models Attack” and “When Models Attack II: Don’t you know who I am, bitch?” was on Oprah for this coming Monday’s show.

Proving that she has a sense of humour (no she dosen’t), Campbell also agreed to sign a No Phone Throwing Zone pledge once the mighty Opes has one created for her to sign, promising she’ll stop throwing cell phones at people.

Can you just imagine the cut eye Naomi wanted to give Oprah for bringing up that?  Silly Oprah!  The only thing this will do is force Naomi to use different, possibly larger objects when beating the hired help.

How long before Kelley has to go into hiding?  

According to the author, Oprah (wait until you hear this…) is a bit of a control freak who’s quite the power player.  

An extremely successful career minded billionaire, controlling and calling the shots? 

SHOCKING!

Kelley claims she’s been blacklisted from promoting her book by various heavy hitters in the industry, including David Letterman, Barbara Walters, and Larry King (King denies this). 

Kelley appeared on the Today Show earlier this morning, where she called Matt Lauer “brave“ for interviewing her.  Looks like his career and popularity are about to take a hit, if Kelly’s stories about Oprah’s clout are correct.

The biggest revelation in the book (so far) is that Oprah had a relationship with John Tesh (Entertainment Tonight, now born-again, new age musician) back in the 70′s when they lived together in Nashville, Tennessee.  The relationship ended when Tesh allegedly bailed on her in the middle of the night due to the social pressures of being an interracial couple. 

Other tidbits?  Oprah’s mother can’t reach her daughter directly and must go through her assistant like everyone else.  Given some of the stories Oprah herself has given about her childhood, and upbringing, this news doesn’t exactly come as a surprise.

As for those rumours about Winfrey and the ever present Gayle King, Kelly thinks the mighty Opes is actually “asexual” and is one of those people whose entire focus and energy is put into their career.

If so, it seems to be working for her.

The target?  Prime-time. 

Apparently, Oprah’s Next Chapter (weak title, work on it) will debut on her OWN cable network, (which launches itself next January), once her daytime talk-show wraps up in September 2011.

Come on, you didn’t think she was going to sit idly by in one of her mansions and count her millions, did you?

ONC will air two or three times a week and will feature the host traveling around the world interviewing various newsworthy people.

The mighty Opes will be giving potential advertisers more details regarding her new network and show later today.

Update - As soccer moms everywhere breath a sigh of relief, knowing that their prophet isn’t abandoning them, comes word that the mighty Opes number one minion Gayle King will be getting her own show, Gayle King Live!  Does this mean CNN can finally put Larry out to pasture and retire him?

Also on the drawing board, two reality TV shows.  One which will follow singer Shania Twain around as she does her thing, the other (produced by Mark Burnett), called Your Own Show: Oprah’s Search For the Next TV Star which will help the billionaire ”discover” the next Dr Phil, Dr Oz, Rachael Ray, or Nate Berkus to add to her growing empire.

All hail the mighty Opes and her 70′s style Farrah hair!

Proving that anything she sets her mind to she gets done because she can, Oprah had an entire set made out of chocolate from Godiva. 

Oh.  My.  God.

The set was made with 7000 chocolate bars and 2400 truffles and includes seats, tables, wall coverings, a fire place and chandelier made from 1500 pieces of chocolate.  (Wouldn’t the lights melt everything?)

Good thing I was nowhere near that place.  I’d be running around taking bites out of everything, laughing like a maniac.

Looks like Godiva is about to see a huge boost in their overall sales.  Can’t wait to see what Oprah eventually does with Legos.

Oprah’s made it pretty clear during her interview with Jay Leno today that she’s neutral in the whole Team CoCo vs Team Leno debate.  The mighty Opes explained that she found it amazing what a polarizing issue this has become for people and requested interviews with both Leno and O’Brien (O’Brien’s team deferred, saying the time wasn’t right.  Oprah says her offer still stands).

During her show Oprah indicated to Jay that she found some of  his behavior during the mess perplexing and beneath him, referring to his taking shots back at David Lettermen on his show (the two have always feuded with one another) and not washing his hands of NBC saying that being fired twice by the network “seems like the ultimate in disrespect to me“.

Given Leno’s explanations in context, it’s easier to understand where he’s coming from.  He’s certainly an example of grace under pressure, given some of the things that are being said about him at water-coolers and the media (and yes, here too). 

Is he being somewhat disingenuous with some of his answers?  Probably.  Staying with NBC instead of actually retireing and taking a 10pm late night talk show was almost guaranteed to cut into The Tonight Shows ratings.

Is he egotistical?  Jay’s a successful comedian in television, it’s almost a given. 

If anything, the Oprah interview confirmed that NBC created a total cluster-f*ck by asking Leno to give up The Tonight Show to O’Brien in five years back in 2004 as a bargaining chip when they were deep in negotiations with him to renew his contract with them.  This all probably could have been avoided if NBC execs instead promised The Tonight Show to O’Brien when Jay decided to retire or if the ratings started to go downhill. 

Jay told Oprah he hopes that he’ll be able to get back on top once The Tonight Show reverts back to him starting in March.  Considering that he’s number 3 on a list of top TV personalities in a recent poll, he’ll probably get his wish.
