The Jay Leno Show death watch continues
At what point do you pack it in? Apparently, NBC‘s not quite there. Yet.
Monday night’s Jay Leno Show show brought the lowest ratings to date for the faltering talk show, which was supposed to revolutionize the 10pm Mon to Fri time slot that it occupies.
Epic Fail.
NBC affiliates are becoming increasingly vocal about their dissatisfaction with the lead in for their local 11pm newscasts, as viewers are going elsewhere.
Ancient History Lesson – the theory (and proven fact) is that many viewers don’t change the channel once they set it somewhere. This thinking became ingrained with television executives long before the wireless converter appeared and people actually had to get up to change the channel. Heaven forbid.
Word is that NBC is going to rework the show’s format in a desperate attempt bid to salvage their experiment.
Joe jackson, father, pimp, mooch, and parasite

Joe Jackson, Michael’s revolting excuse for a father who recently said that his deceased son is “worth more dead than alive“, then added as an after- thought ”but of course I wish he were alive” (nice save) has finally done what everyone knew he was going to and is suing the estate of the late singer, wanting for a piece of the action.
According to TMZ , the parasitic vulture has filed papers in court demanding his own “independent family allowance”. I don’t know how living off of someone elses dime makes you “independent”, but I digress. The documents claim Michael was giving his mother up to $60 grand a month and she was supposed to give Joe half. The suit goes on to say that Michael’s estate made over $100 million in the first 7 weeks since his death and that it can well afford a family allowance to the estranged patriarch. I believe this sort of thinking is what the courts sometimes refer to as “deep pockets”. The party that can afford to lose, pays.
Joe lists his expenses as follows:
$2,500 for eating out
$2,000 for flying in airplanes
$3,000 for hotel rooms
$1,000 for grocery
$1,200 for rent
$50 for charity
No mention of how much money he needs for the cheap looking ”dates” he always seems to have by his side at events like the MVA’s, but that might be covered in the “ho” part of “hotel”.
Maybe Ralph Lauren found out Posh is available?
Fillipa Hamilton, a model for Ralph Lauren since 2002 has been fired. Fashion houses change the models they use all the time, but this is different. The already slim model was at the centre of a controversy last week when a photo-shopped ad giving her the proportions one normally associates with an insect (except maybe Karl Lagerfeld) appeared in Japan last week.
When the poo storm over unhealthy and unrealistic body images in the fashion industry started to aim itself squarely at Ralph Lauren (the company, not the person), a half assed apology/excuse was issued, which basically went something to the effect of Blah blah blah blah, “we are responsible”, blah blah blah, “addressed the problem”, blah blah, “going forward”, blah, “take every precaution” blah.
Cut to a few days later, and Hamilton has been given the pink slip. Speaking on the Today show earlier this morning, the 5’10′, 120lb model said, “They fired me because they said I was overweight and I couldn’t fit in their clothes anymore. I’m very proud of what I look like, and I think a role model should look healthy.”
Polo Ralph Lauren media relations department released a statement referring to Hamilton as “beautiful and healthy” but that their professional relationship ended “as a result of her inability to meet the obligations under her contract with us.”
Sounds more like Polo Ralph Lauren was more interested in distancing themselves from all things associated with the negative press, found a loop-hole and dove in.
reality bites for dogs
This is just so wrong on so many levels. Per the Los Angeles Times, Michael Vick, the convicted dog killing quarterback, and BET (proving that their days of rewarding the worst kind of f*ckery are coming to a middle) will produce an 8 part documentary-style reality TV show to air next year about his attempts at redemption. Tentatively titled The Michael Vick Project (guess “I liked to train animals to tear each other apart for fun and profit, but I’m not really a bad guy” was too long) will follow the Philadelphia Eagles player as he tries to rebuild relationships with family and friends, relaunch his NFL career, and make amends over his 2007 arrest and conviction. Apparently, Vick’s company is helping to produce the show, but there’s no real word on how much it, or Vick himself, is being paid for their involvement. PETA’s already given their strong opposition to the whole sordid idea, not to mention the fact that a convicted criminal is going to profit from trying to “make amends” for his crimes. Vick told the LA Times that he hopes that the “serious and somber” show “can be a blueprint for so many kids.” Unless Vick donates all the money he earns for this venture to PETA or an animal shelter, then this is nothing but a disingenuous attempt on his behalf to prove he’s a changed man.
